WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 47-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon after attempting to rob another man at knifepoint in Southwest D.C., according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The incident occurred around 3:39 p.m. on March 23 in the 4600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Southwest. Police say the suspect demanded money from the victim and threatened to stab him when he refused.
The suspect, identified as Jovaughn Parsons of Northeast D.C., did not take any property and was apprehended by officers who responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.
Parsons was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery (Knife). The quick response by officers prevented the situation from escalating further.
The case remains under review as investigators continue gathering details surrounding the attempted robbery.
