TRENTON, N.J. — A lucky ticket buyer in Middlesex County struck gold last week, becoming the first to claim a $500,000 top prize from the Super Hot 7’s Scratch-Off Game, state officials said.

The winning $10 ticket was purchased on Tuesday, March 18, at Wawa #914, located at 426 Ryders Lane in East Brunswick. Only two of the game’s three top prizes remain.

Other large prizes hit around the state over the past week, including a $400,000 Crossword Bonanza ticket sold in Hoboken, a $250,000 Crossword ticket sold in Newark, and a $200,000 In the Green winner in Phillipsburg.

The Crossword Bonanza win was the final top prize in that $20 game and was claimed on March 20 at Prime Place Convenience, 514 1st Street in Hoboken. The final $250,000 Crossword prize was purchased at Europa Liquors, 157 Pacific Street in Newark on March 17.

On March 22, a Phillipsburg player scored $200,000 on a $5 In the Green ticket bought at Quick Chek #69, 600 New Brunswick Avenue in Warren County. That was the first of three top prizes available for that game.

The New Jersey Lottery has funneled nearly $33.7 billion into state programs since 1970, including support for the public employee pension system under a 30-year agreement enacted in 2017.

Four major scratch-off prizes were claimed across New Jersey in one week, totaling $1.35 million.
