WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD — Two 17-year-old students from Boonsboro High School are facing multiple charges after a bomb scare at the school last week turned out to be a hoax.
The incident occurred on March 19, 2025, when a suspicious device was found in a student’s backpack around 11:15 a.m. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office quickly called in the Office of the State Fire Marshal Bomb Squad. The school was evacuated, and bomb technicians arrived on the scene within 20 minutes. After a thorough inspection, the device was determined to be non-explosive.
