BRONX, NY — Police are searching for a woman accused of stealing a wallet from inside Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx and using the stolen credit cards to make hundreds of dollars in unauthorized purchases, the NYPD said.

The incident occurred around 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, inside an office at Montefiore Hospital, located at 111 East 210th Street. According to police, an unidentified individual entered the office and removed a 52-year-old woman’s wallet.
The wallet contained credit cards, which the suspect allegedly used to make unauthorized transactions totaling approximately $800 at various locations after fleeing the scene on foot.
No injuries were reported, and the victim was not present when the unauthorized purchases were made.
Police described the suspect as a female with a dark complexion, glasses, and black hair. At the time of the incident, she was last seen wearing a gray jacket, burgundy shirt, light-colored pants, white sneakers, and carrying an Apple laptop.
Authorities have not released surveillance images but said media of the individual is being circulated as the investigation continues.
No arrests have been made, and the suspect remains at large.
