JERSEY CITY, N.J. — U.S. Senator Andy Kim (D-N.J.) will kick off a series of in-person town halls this week, continuing his stated commitment to open dialogue with constituents as critical federal budget negotiations loom in Washington.
The first event is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Brick Township Police Athletic League in Ocean County. Two additional town halls are planned in other regions of the state, with details to be announced.
The events come as Congress prepares for a contentious reconciliation process, during which a Republican-led package is expected to propose cuts to Medicaid, education, and other federal support programs. Senator Kim plans to use the town halls to outline potential impacts and hear directly from residents.
According to Kim’s office, the senator has already held 81 town halls prior to taking office at the end of 2024, along with two telephone town halls this year. His team emphasized his pledge to maintain accessibility and direct communication with New Jersey voters.
Since joining the Senate in January, Kim has introduced legislation aimed at reinstating veterans dismissed by the Trump administration and has spoken out against what he called the Trump administration’s “lawlessness.”
He has also moved to defend federal programs supporting New Jersey families and schools.
Kim has remained silent on violent attacks against Tesla owners and dealerships, even as two such events are being held this weekend in New Jersey.
“Senator Kim will outline what’s at stake and hear from New Jerseyans on what they want him to bring back to Capitol Hill,” his office said in a statement.
