EATONTOWN, N.J. — A group of protesters is planning to gather outside a Tesla dealership on Sunday for what organizers are calling a “Tesla takedown” event aimed at Elon Musk and his influence on American politics.

Have your fire extinguishers and pepper spray ready, because things could get out of hand!

Key Points

  • Protesters will gather Sunday outside a Tesla dealership in Eatontown, N.J., for a rally targeting Elon Musk.
  • The demonstration is organized by local Indivisible members and emphasizes peaceful action.
  • The event follows Musk’s recent Pentagon visit and rising political visibility.

The demonstration is scheduled for 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Tesla showroom on Route 35 in Eatontown. The rally is being coordinated by local members of Indivisible, a national grassroots movement known for organizing progressive political action.

The movement has been responsible for burning charging stations, burning tesla dealerships, cars, and targeting individual Tesla owners.

According to a description circulated by organizers, the protest is directed at what they call Musk’s growing political influence. “No one voted for Elon Musk but he’s using his wealth and power to take down our government,” the event notice reads.

Participants are expected to line the sidewalk along the busy highway outside the dealership, holding signs with messages including “IT’S MUSK OR US,” “FIRE ELON MUSK,” and “MAKE MUSK THE X-PRESIDENT.”

Organizers are encouraging the use of noisemakers such as cowbells and tambourines. While they are calling for a peaceful demonstration, locals are on edge over violence at Tesla dealerships nationwide.

Musk, whose companies include Tesla, SpaceX and X (formerly Twitter), has increasingly drawn criticism from activists who oppose his involvement in national policy and advisory roles. The demonstration follows his Friday visit to the Pentagon for a private meeting with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Local authorities have not issued any statements about the planned protest. Organizers advised attendees to use caution when navigating the traffic-heavy area around the dealership.
