18-year-old suspect charged in shooting, carjacking, and armed robberies in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. A Southeast D.C. man has been arrested in connection with a February shooting and multiple violent offenses committed in December, police announced Wednesday.

Aaron Tolliver, 18, was taken into custody on March 18 at a residence, where officers also recovered a handgun. He was charged with shooting a 17-year-old male on February 8 in the 2600 block of Stanton Road SE.

Further investigation linked Tolliver to a string of violent crimes over a 48-hour span in December 2024. As a result, he faces additional charges, including:

  • Armed carjacking (gun): On December 22 at 1:04 p.m., he allegedly stole a vehicle at gunpoint in the 1700 block of 4th Street NW. The car was recovered three days later.
  • Armed robbery (gun): On December 23 at 7:49 a.m., he allegedly robbed a victim of a coat and cellphone in the 1300 block of Florida Avenue NW.
  • Attempted armed robbery (gun): On December 24 at 10:45 a.m., he allegedly tried to rob two people in the 1500 block of 16th Street NW but fled empty-handed.
  • Robbery (gun): On December 24 at 11:01 a.m., he allegedly stole a victim’s coat and belongings in the 2100 block of 8th Street NW.

Tolliver remains in custody as the investigation continues.
