Armed suspect charged after D.C. shooting leaves one wounded

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a Northwest D.C. shooting that left one man injured Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 2:04 p.m. on March 15, Fourth District officers responded to the 1200 block of Madison Street NW for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was conscious and breathing and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The following day, detectives continued their investigation, leading to the arrest of 26-year-old Kavon Phillips of Northwest D.C.

Phillips has been charged with multiple offenses, including assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a pistol without a license, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a large-capacity ammunition feeding device.
