LUTHERVILLE, Md. — A 63-year-old woman has been arrested for suspected impaired driving after crashing into a Maryland State Trooper’s vehicle on Interstate 695.
Maryland State Police say the trooper, assigned to the Golden Ring Barrack, was inside her marked patrol vehicle with emergency lights activated when a Honda HR-V driven by Harriet Penniman Van Kleeck of Towson cut across two lanes and struck the cruiser late Friday night.
The trooper was taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and later released. Van Kleeck was arrested and charged with suspected impaired driving and related traffic offenses. She is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
The crash, which occurred around 11:30 p.m. between Charles Road and York Road, temporarily shut down I-695 for investigation. The case remains under investigation.
