GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A cyclist was hospitalized Saturday night after being struck by a car and becoming trapped underneath the vehicle near the intersection of Wrangleboro Road and Collins Road.

Police responded to the crash at approximately 7:50 p.m. on March 15, where they found the victim, Dana Kutassy of Galloway, pinned beneath a Nissan Versa. The driver, Yovana Martinez-Mora of Pleasantville, had been making a left turn from Collins Road onto Wrangleboro Road when her vehicle struck Kutassy, who was riding an electric bicycle in the crosswalk.

Two good Samaritans stopped at the scene and used floor jacks to help lift the vehicle, allowing first responders to free Kutassy. Emergency personnel quickly transported her to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division for treatment.

Officer Nicholas Stewart of the Galloway Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is leading the investigation, which remains in its early stages. Authorities have not announced any charges at this time.

The Galloway Township Police Department thanked the bystanders for their swift actions, crediting them with helping ensure Kutassy received immediate medical attention.
