UTICA, NY – A 13-year-old has been charged with assault after allegedly attacking a nurse at Wynn Hospital, Utica police said.
Officers responded to the hospital on March 5 after reports that a juvenile patient had assaulted a nurse in the Emergency Department. According to staff, the juvenile grabbed the nurse’s hair, pulled her down, and bit her arm, breaking the skin and causing significant pain and injury.
Due to the suspect’s age, they were issued an appearance ticket for second-degree assault. Authorities have not released the juvenile’s identity.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
