JACKSON, N.J. — A 14-year-old Jackson Soccer Club player is turning his passion for the game into an opportunity to help others. Liam Kohute, who has been playing soccer since he was four, is hosting a free soccer clinic on Saturday for children ages 8 to 12 as part of his Eagle Scout project.

The clinic will feature skill-building stations and conclude with a penalty kick shootout for each age group. Participants are required to pre-register and donate either new or gently used sports equipment or purchase items from an Amazon wishlist. The donations will go to Leveling the Playing Field, a nonprofit that provides sports gear to youth programs and schools in need.
“I hope to give more kids the opportunity to experience the joy and benefits of sports, just as I have,” Kohute said.

With 40 players already signed up, the event is shaping up to be a significant step in Kohute’s effort to make sports more accessible for children in need.
