CUMBERLAND, Md. — A woman was arrested Saturday after police found her in possession of a stolen truck and utility trailer, while a second suspect fled the scene in another stolen vehicle, authorities said.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Fayette Street on March 8 after a utility trailer was reported stolen earlier that morning. Around 11 a.m., a patrol officer spotted a GMC truck towing a similar trailer on Sedgewick Street. The officer confirmed the trailer was stolen using its registration plate and approached the vehicle.
Inside the truck, police found Lindsey Nicole Teresi, 30, of Cumberland, who was then taken into custody. Further investigation revealed that the GMC truck she was occupying had been reported stolen from Hampshire County, West Virginia. The West Virginia State Police confirmed an active arrest warrant for Teresi in connection with the vehicle theft.
Teresi was transported to police headquarters before being taken to a District Court Commissioner for her initial appearance. She was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and is being held without bond.
During the arrest, a second truck pulling a car trailer arrived at the scene but quickly fled when an officer attempted to make contact with the male driver. Authorities described the vehicle as a white Chevrolet truck with a utility work bed, pulling a flatbed car trailer. This vehicle is also believed to be stolen from Hampshire County, West Virginia.
Anyone with information about the second vehicle is urged to contact the Cumberland Police Department at (301) 777-1600 or call 911. Callers may remain anonymous.
