DALLAS, T.X. — Sholdon Daniels, an Army veteran, attorney, and small business consultant, has announced his campaign to represent Texas’ 30th Congressional District, challenging incumbent Rep. Jasmine Crockett in the upcoming election.

Daniels, a native of North Texas, frames his candidacy as a grassroots effort to shift the district’s leadership away from political grandstanding and toward real solutions for working families. He emphasizes his background in public service, personal perseverance, and commitment to economic growth and public safety as central themes of his campaign.

A North Texas Native with a Story of Resilience

Daniels was raised in a single-parent household alongside his mother and younger sister. His mother, who had him at 19, worked tirelessly to provide for her children, and the family relied on government housing assistance before eventually securing a home through the HUD program. That experience, Daniels says, shaped his belief in the importance of opportunity, perseverance, and hard work.

He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Texas at Dallas before obtaining his law degree from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. While in law school, he founded the Civil Rights Law Society and was an active member of the Collegiate 100 Black Men of America, organizations dedicated to leadership, mentorship, and advocacy.

Military Service and Legal Career

At 18, Daniels enlisted in the U.S. Army as a communications specialist, where he developed technical expertise, discipline, and leadership skills. His military service, he says, deepened his commitment to defending American freedoms and reinforced the values of service and accountability.

Following law school, Daniels built a career as a criminal defense attorney, focusing on providing legal representation to those in need. He has also worked as a small business consultant, helping entrepreneurs navigate challenges and achieve success. His experience in both law and business, he argues, gives him a firsthand understanding of the struggles working families and business owners face in North Texas.

A Platform Focused on Families, Safety, and Economic Empowerment

Daniels is positioning himself as a candidate focused on practical solutions for Texas’ 30th District, pledging to prioritize public safety, economic opportunity, and family values. He has been vocal about issues affecting Black communities, particularly his concerns over negative portrayals in mainstream media and entertainment.

He argues that youth are too often encouraged to embrace a culture of drugs, violence, and crime rather than achievement and empowerment. Daniels is calling for greater accountability in the entertainment industry and policies that strengthen families and communities. He also opposes what he describes as attacks on traditional masculinity and family structures, advocating instead for policies that uplift fathers and support strong family units.

Challenging Rep. Jasmine Crockett

Daniels is presenting himself as an alternative to incumbent Rep. Jasmine Crockett, arguing that she prioritizes party loyalty and media attention over the needs of her constituents.

“While Jasmine Crockett chases headlines, I’m building a movement to put working families, small businesses, and public safety first,” Daniels said in a recent statement. “I’m not running to be a politician—I’m running to be a representative who listens, leads, and delivers for the people of North Texas.”

Daniels has framed his campaign as a fight to restore common sense leadership to Texas’ 30th District, promising to focus on local concerns rather than national political theatrics. He is calling on voters to join his movement, pledge their support, and help him unseat Crockett in the upcoming election.

With his military background, legal experience, and focus on community empowerment, Daniels is seeking to build a coalition of voters looking for change in North Texas. His campaign will likely center on key conservative themes, including public safety, family values, and economic opportunity, as he takes on Crockett in what could be a closely watched race.
