BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — A reported shooting near Lansdowne High School on Tuesday afternoon prompted a police response and a temporary lockdown of the school, officials said.
Baltimore County police were called to the 3800 block of Hollins Ferry Road following reports of gunfire in the area. Lansdowne High School Principal Allison Seymour informed parents that the school activated its lockdown protocol after the incident, which occurred at a shopping center across the street.
“We immediately activated our lockdown protocol and contacted Baltimore County police,” Seymour said in a message to the school community. “All afterschool and evening activities at Lansdowne High School are canceled.”
Police have not released details on potential victims or suspects. Parents were advised to pick up students in the lot off Lansdowne Road. The investigation is ongoing.
