PHILADELPHIA, PA — A man was shot and killed early Sunday morning outside a sports bar in North Philadelphia after returning with a firearm following his removal from the establishment, police said.
Officers from the 25th District responded to a call about a “person with a gun” at approximately 2:40 a.m. on the 3400 block of N. 2nd Street. When they arrived, they found an unresponsive Hispanic male lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound to the head.
Police transported the victim to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:59 a.m. His identity has not yet been released.
According to investigators, the victim had been inside the bar earlier but was expelled by security after a fight inside the bar. He later returned armed with a gun and was confronted by security personnel, leading to the fatal shooting.
