LAKE WALES, Fla. — A Lake Wales woman was arrested Tuesday after allegedly attacking a sheriff’s deputy with her dog and racking up multiple charges, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Tiffany Perkins, 28, was taken into custody after a deputy responded to her home on Sugar Pine Loop at around 10:49 a.m. at the request of two Duke Energy employees investigating possible electricity theft.
Authorities said Perkins released her dogs on the workers before calling 911 as the deputy questioned her. When the deputy moved to arrest her, one of her Great Danes attacked, injuring his arm and eye. Additional deputies arrived and took her into custody.
Investigators determined Perkins had been illegally reconnecting electricity to her home after Duke Energy had shut it off. Polk County Animal Control removed two Great Danes from the property, including one in extremely poor health.
Perkins was booked into the Polk County Jail on charges including aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, animal cruelty, theft of utility services, and misuse of 911.
A Florida woman is facing a long list of charges after allegedly using her Great Dane to attack a deputy and stealing electricity from Duke Energy.
