Toms River Could Play Key Role in 2025 GOP Election for Governor at Ocean County Convention

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Ocean County Republicans are divided regarding their support for Governor in this year’s GOP primary election. A list of endorsements released by the Ocean County GOP for Spadea is both telling and troubling for Jack Ciattarelli.

The list includes Republican officials, county commissioners, mayors, and councilmembers from Brick, Manchester, Barnegat, and Stafford, yet several key players in Ocean County politics were missing.

In Toms River, Councilman Justin Lamb was the sole Republican council member to endorse Spadea. The other six council members and Mayor Dan Rodrick were notably absent from the endorsement list.

“We have four very qualified and capable candidates running on this year’s ballot, and in the absence of a party line, the vote will be decided by the Republican voters of Toms River and Ocean County,” said Mayor Dan Rodrick. “I will fully support the Republican candidate that the people of my town and Ocean County endorse in the election.”

Rodrick has been a thorn in the side of Democrats and the political establishment by doing exactly what President Donald Trump and Elon Musk did with D.O.G.E at the municipal level. He took office and immediately began cutting unnecessary jobs, canceling unnecessary contracts, and renegotiating other contracts for millions of dollars in savings.

“Each of these candidates has promised to go to Trenton, reduce costs, cut unnecessary spending, and improve our state,” said Rodrick. “I look forward to working closely with the winner of the GOP primary to ensure we get him to Trenton in November.”
