3,000 without power in Jackson Township as storms topple trees, power lines

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — High winds and heavy rains have left 3,000 residents without power in Jackson Township, as downed trees and power lines forced multiple road closures across the area.

Emergency crews are responding to widespread damage, with utility poles and wires reported down at various locations. The storm has led to hazardous road conditions, prompting officials to urge caution and advise residents to report outages to Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L).

Authorities have confirmed several road closures, including North Cooks Bridge Road between Willow Drive and North County Line Road, South New Prospect Road between New Mexico Street and Woodlane Road, North New Prospect Road between Harfield Drive and Larsen Road, and the entire length of East Pleasant Grove Road.

Officials are continuing to assess the damage as utility crews work to restore power to affected areas.
