FREDERICK, Md. — A juvenile suspect was arrested Saturday after Frederick police responded to a reported theft and discovered the individual in possession of a loaded handgun, authorities said.

Officers were called to the 1500 block of Opossumtown Pike around noon on February 8 for a theft in progress at a local business. Upon arrival, Cpl. During a search, officers found a loaded 9mm Glock 19 concealed in the suspect’s jacket. The juvenile was placed with the Department of Juvenile Services and now faces multiple charges, including theft under $100, possession of a firearm by a minor, illegal possession of ammunition, and carrying a loaded handgun.

Frederick police emphasized their commitment to removing illegal firearms from the streets and ensuring accountability for those unlawfully carrying weapons.
