Ocean City officials warn drivers as winter weather approaches

OCEAN CITY, Md. — With snow in the forecast, the Ocean City Police Department is urging drivers to take precautions ahead of expected winter weather.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service Wakefield VA, the coastal town may see snowfall starting tomorrow. Officials are reminding residents and visitors to drive cautiously, stay alert, and avoid the roads if possible until plows have cleared them.

The department shared key safety tips, including reducing speed, maintaining control, and anticipating stops. Drivers are also reminded to remain sober behind the wheel and use anti-lock brakes effectively.

“If you can avoid it, stay off the roadways until after the storm, and Public Works crews can plow the roads,” Ocean City police advised in a statement.
