TRENTON, N.J. — Governor Phil Murphy will travel to Washington, D.C., on Thursday, February 6, for meetings with federal officials, his office announced. He is scheduled to return to New Jersey on the morning of Friday, February 7.
During his absence, Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way will serve as acting governor.
While in Washington, Murphy will hold a brief media availability at 3:30 p.m. following a private meeting with the New Jersey congressional delegation.
Murphy’s visit comes as state and federal lawmakers continue discussions on key policy issues affecting New Jersey by the Trump administration. Murphy’s team did not say whether or not the governor will participate in ongoing public protests throughout the U.S. capital.
