TOMS RIVER, N.J. — An illegal alien incarcerated in Ocean County is facing multiple charges, including making a death threat and unlawful possession of a weapon, according to inmate records.
Airo Rene Portillo-Rios was booked into the Ocean County Jail on February 2, 2025, and remains held without bail. Court records show he has been charged with making a terroristic threat to kill under New Jersey statute 2C:12-3B, unlawful possession of a weapon under statute 2C:39-5D, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose under statute 2C:39-4D.
Additionally, Portillo-Rios has a detainer issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which could affect his custody status. His projected release date has not been determined and remains subject to change.
