Off-duty NYPD school safety agent arrested on drug and weapons charges in Queens

QUEENS, N.Y. — An off-duty NYPD school safety agent was arrested early Friday morning in Queens on multiple drug and weapons charges, authorities said.

Tanya Taylor, 49, was taken into custody at approximately 6:05 a.m. within the confines of the 113th Precinct. She faces several charges, including third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon (four counts), and additional drug and firearm-related offenses.

Details surrounding the circumstances of Taylor’s arrest have not been disclosed. The NYPD has not commented on whether she was in possession of the weapons or drugs while on duty.
