PHILADELPHIA, PA — A video showing a man firing a gun into the air during a crowded celebration for the Philadelphia Eagles’ playoff victory Sunday night has sparked concern as city officials have yet to comment on the incident.
We reached out today to the Philadelphia Police Department for a comment and will update the article upon update.
Correction: Our initial image appeared to focus on the wrong individual, so we have enhanced the photo and identified the actual gunman with a red circle on the photo.
The footage, which quickly circulated on social media, captured an unidentified man firing three gunshots into the air while thousands of fans gathered near Lincoln Financial Field. The celebration followed the Eagles’ NFC Championship game win.
“I believe that was a gun. That was definitely a gun!” one witness exclaimed in the video as the crowd briefly reacted to the gunfire before resuming their revelry. No injuries or property damage were reported, but the act left many attendees alarmed.

As of Monday, Philadelphia police and city officials have not released a statement about the incident or provided updates on any investigation into the individual seen in the video. It is unclear whether authorities are actively pursuing the matter.
The celebration otherwise remained largely peaceful, with fans spilling into the streets to cheer their team’s return to the Super Bowl.
