BROOKLYN, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City Emergency Medical Technician was arrested Saturday evening and charged with multiple offenses, the NYPD confirmed.
Gregorio Belmont, a 30-year-old EMT with the FDNY, was taken into custody at approximately 8:09 p.m. within the confines of the 70th Precinct in Brooklyn.
Belmont is facing charges of third-degree assault, resisting arrest, and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, authorities said.
Details regarding the circumstances of the arrest were not immediately available, and no injuries were reported in connection to the incident.
The FDNY did not immediately comment on the arrest or provide information about Belmont’s employment status following the charges.
