Most of New Jersey Could See 3 to 6 Inches of Snow Today, But No "Megastorm"

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. — A winter weather advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. Sunday through 1 a.m. Monday for Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Southeastern Burlington Counties, the National Weather Service announced.

Snow is expected to begin this afternoon, possibly mixed with rain at times, before transitioning to all snow tonight. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are predicted, with heavier snowfall possible in certain areas.

Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 37 degrees today before plummeting to around 17 degrees overnight, accompanied by northwest winds of up to 15 mph. Slippery road conditions and areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

The advisory warns of hazardous travel conditions, especially on roads, bridges, and overpasses. Icy conditions may persist for several days, as temperatures are forecast to remain below freezing after the storm ends.
