BRONX, NY — A Bronx resident has claimed a $1 million prize on the New York Lottery’s Magic 8 Ball scratch-off game, lottery officials announced.

Ivor Beazer purchased the winning ticket at Annerys Deli, located at 2178 Crotona Ave. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $422,446 after required withholdings.

The Magic 8 Ball game, which costs $5 per ticket, awards the top prize to players who match any of their numbers to the winning numbers listed on the ticket. Beazer’s winning ticket was one of just a few to claim the game’s $1 million top prize.

The odds of winning the top prize in this game were 1 in 3.4 million, according to the New York Lottery. Players can check the status of any active scratch-off game by downloading the Game Report from nylottery.ny.gov.

This win marks a major payout in the Magic 8 Ball game, which continues to attract lottery players across New York State.
