Quick Arrest Made in Northwest D.C. Robbery Attempt WASHINGTON, DC - Following a Northwest robbery attempt, D.C. Metro Police Department’s Third District detectives have swiftly apprehended a suspect. The incident occurred today around 2:53 PM, in the 1200 block of W Street, Northwest. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Lenare Leath, Jr. of Northwest D.C., allegedly brandished a knife and pushed the victim to the ground in an attempt to steal their property. After a struggle, the suspect fled empty-handed but was quickly caught by responding officers. The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. WASHINGTON, DC — A shooting during a domestic altercation Friday night in Northeast DC left five people injured and resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old suspect, police said.

The incident unfolded around 8:18 p.m. on the 1500 block of Harry Thomas Way NE. Officers arrived to find two adult males and an adult female with gunshot wounds; all three were transported to a hospital by DC Fire and EMS for treatment.

Two additional adult males with non-life-threatening injuries later transported themselves to a hospital. Investigators determined that one of the men seeking treatment was responsible for the shooting.

The suspect, identified as Deamonte Bridgeforth of Northeast DC, was arrested and charged with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (gun). Detectives confirmed the shooting was domestic in nature and occurred during an argument between the suspect and one of the victims.
