Pedestrian in Critical Condition After Howell Township Crash

A tragic start to the day unfolded early Tuesday morning in Howell Township, New Jersey, when a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle on US Route 9 near Strickland Road.

At around 4:51 a.m., emergency responders rushed to the scene where a 77-year-old local man had been hit while walking along the southbound side of the busy roadway. The driver, who was traveling in the right lane, immediately stopped and cooperated with authorities.

The injured pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition, battling multiple injuries.

Law enforcement agencies, including the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), are actively investigating the incident. Authorities have not released further details on how the collision occurred and are urging anyone with information to step forward.
