18-year-old killed, another injured in Aberdeen shooting

ABERDEEN, Md. — Harford County detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead and another injured early Sunday morning in a residential area of Aberdeen.

At approximately 12:34 a.m. on January 5, deputies from the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of gunfire on the 1300 block of N Sewards Court. Upon arrival, officers found two adult male victims with gunshot wounds.

One victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said. The second victim, identified as 18-year-old Kylonne Taylor of Aberdeen, was discovered in the basement of a residence with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by deputies, Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division has taken over the case, and investigators from the Forensic Services Unit have been working to collect evidence. Detectives have stated they do not believe the shooting was a random act, though the motive remains under investigation.

Law enforcement officials have not released information about potential suspects or further details about the circumstances of the shooting.
