RIDGEWOOD, N.Y. — A $50,000 Powerball third-prize-winning ticket for the Jan. 1 drawing was sold at Myrtle Convenience Deli on 6815 Myrtle Avenue, the New York Lottery announced.

The ticket matched four of the five white balls and the red Power Ball, securing the significant prize. Powerball drawings are held three times a week—Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday—with numbers drawn from a field of 69 for the white balls and one to 26 for the red Power Ball.

The New York Lottery encourages all players to check their tickets to see if they have a winning combination. The next Powerball drawing will take place on Saturday at 10:59 p.m., with the jackpot continuing to grow.

Lottery officials remind players to sign the back of their tickets and keep them in a secure place. All prize winners are advised to contact the New York Lottery for instructions on how to claim their prize.
