WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Newly released body camera footage shows the dramatic arrest of a former Target employee accused of taking an upskirt photo of a customer, leading police on a brief foot chase outside the store.

David I. Sutton, who was employed at the Target in Wall Township, was initially arrested on Aug. 27 on charges of invasion of privacy, harassment, and obstruction of justice. Subsequent investigations uncovered what authorities described as “a large amount” of child pornography in Sutton’s possession, resulting in additional charges filed in September.

The Aug. 27 incident began when a fellow Target employee alerted police to Sutton’s alleged behavior. The employee told officers that Sutton had been seen touching a customer’s leg and appeared to have taken an upskirt photo. Surveillance footage reportedly supported the claim.

Body camera footage shows officers being briefed by the witness employee, who indicated that Sutton had locked himself in a store bathroom stall for over 15 minutes. Officers discussed their plan to confront Sutton, but he left the store before they could approach him.

“He’s f—ing running,” one officer is heard saying as Sutton fled. Police gave chase, and the video captures an officer ordering Sutton to stop. Sutton surrendered moments later and was placed under arrest without further incident.

Sutton now faces a series of legal battles stemming from both the initial incident and the discovery of child pornography during the investigation. Authorities have not disclosed details about the extent of the material or whether additional victims have been identified.

Target confirmed that Sutton is no longer employed with the company and stated that they are cooperating fully with the investigation.
