Three arrested in Bensalem after carjacked vehicle chase, loaded guns recovered

BENSALEM, Pa. — Police apprehended three suspects, including a juvenile, after a stolen vehicle from a Philadelphia carjacking led officers on a chase through Bensalem Township Thursday night. Authorities recovered three firearms, including a loaded “ghost gun,” during the arrests.

The incident began at approximately 8:13 p.m. when an automated license plate reader alerted Bensalem police to a white 2020 Toyota Corolla with Pennsylvania plates traveling west on Street Road. The vehicle had been reported stolen at gunpoint during a carjacking in Philadelphia the previous day, according to police.

Officers located the vehicle near Hulmeville Road and Park Avenue, and it fled at high speed into the Franklin Commons Apartments. Four suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot. A 16-year-old driver from Philadelphia was apprehended after a brief chase and found with a loaded Polymer “ghost gun” equipped with an extended magazine. He faces numerous charges, including firearms offenses, fleeing and eluding police, and driving without a license. He was transported to the Edison Juvenile Facility.

Two other suspects, Sincere Bennett, 19, and Malik Moore Ward, 23, both of Philadelphia, were also arrested after brief foot pursuits. Bennett was found with a black Beretta 9mm handgun in his backpack and charged with firearms offenses, receiving stolen property, and other crimes. His bail was set at $350,000. Ward, who resisted arrest, was charged with similar offenses, and his bail was set at $250,000. Both were remanded to Bucks County Prison.

A fourth suspect escaped capture. Officers later found a silver Taurus 9mm handgun in the area where the suspects fled. Bensalem Police have shared information with Philadelphia Police to assist in their ongoing robbery and carjacking investigation.
