BROOKLYN PARK, Md. — A traffic stop in Brooklyn Park on Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a Baltimore man after police discovered a handgun and suspected narcotics in his vehicle, authorities said.
Northern District detectives stopped a silver Acura TL at approximately 12:05 p.m. at the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Tenth Avenue. During the search, officers seized a 9mm semi-automatic Taurus handgun and approximately 14.24 grams of suspected cocaine.
The driver, identified as 30-year-old Darrell Marquis Parker of Baltimore, was taken into custody and charged with multiple weapons and drug-related offenses.
Officials have not disclosed additional details regarding the circumstances of the traffic stop but confirmed that the arrest was part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal firearms and drug activity in the area.
Parker is currently awaiting legal proceedings as the investigation continues.
