Man found fatally shot in Northwest D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 21-year-old man was found dead Thursday morning in Northwest D.C., with authorities determining he was the victim of a fatal shooting.

Officers responded to the 600 block of T Street, Northwest, at approximately 6:50 a.m. after receiving reports of an unconscious individual. Upon arrival, police discovered an adult male who was unresponsive and not breathing.

Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds, ruling the incident a homicide.

The victim was identified as Tavaughn Norde, 21, of Southwest D.C. Police have not released information on potential suspects or a motive in the case.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Norde’s death.
