NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at the Biden Welcome Center along the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway.
The incident took place around 7 a.m. on December 1, 2024, when a 45-year-old man from Goshen, New York, was approached by an unknown suspect or suspects in the parking lot. According to police, the man was robbed and then shot.
Troopers found the victim lying outside a Starbucks at the service area. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Investigators from the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No description of the suspect or suspects is available at this time, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
