RIDGEWAY, Va. — A Virginia woman has been arrested and charged with criminal solicitation of murder and conspiracy to commit a felony after allegedly plotting to have someone killed, authorities said.
Gennevieve McGhee, 44, was taken into custody on Nov. 27 following an investigation by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. Officials said McGhee had detailed her plans during a meeting with a confidential informant working under law enforcement direction.
The sheriff’s office stated that McGhee provided specific instructions regarding payment arrangements and how she wanted the robbery and murder carried out. The informant recorded their interaction at McGhee’s Ridgeway home on Nov. 26, capturing audio and video evidence.
Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the alleged target or the informant. McGhee remains held without bond at the Henry County Adult Detention Center as the investigation continues.
