ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Three men, including the victim, were arrested in connection with a shooting earlier this month that led to the recovery of two handguns, one of which was reported stolen, authorities said.

The incident occurred on November 5, shortly after midnight, when patrol officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert near Kentucky and Arctic Avenues. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence of gunfire and a blood trail leading to a vehicle. Inside the vehicle, they found 28-year-old Brian Wilson suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers immediately removed Wilson from the vehicle, applied two tourniquets, and discovered a handgun on the seat where he had been sitting. Wilson was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

A subsequent investigation by the Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit revealed that Wilson had exchanged gunfire with another man, who fled the scene with an accomplice. Detectives tracked the suspects’ movements, leading to the recovery of a stolen handgun and additional evidence.

On November 27, detectives issued warrants for the arrest of Kahree Nesbitt, 31, and Jabez Witherspoon, 19. Both were apprehended later that day. Nesbitt was found in possession of heroin at the time of his arrest.

The three suspects now face a range of charges, including attempted murder, conspiracy, and weapons violations.
