Newark police seek public’s help identifying suspects in restaurant theft

NEWARK, N.J. — Authorities are asking for assistance in identifying two women accused of a theft of services at a Newark restaurant on Saturday night, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.

The incident occurred on November 23 at around 7 p.m. at a restaurant on Patterson Street near Wall Street. Police say the suspects ordered $106 worth of food and beverages but left the establishment after paying only $50.

Investigators have released images of the two suspects, described as Black females, in hopes that someone in the community will recognize them.

Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda urged anyone with information about the suspects to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Tips can be submitted anonymously and may qualify for a reward.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the case as they seek to hold the suspects accountable for the unpaid balance.
