WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Washington Spirit Fan Appreciation Rally scheduled for Monday, November 25, is expected to impact traffic in Southwest D.C. with parking restrictions and street closures in place throughout the day.
From 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., multiple streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking zones, including portions of Potomac Avenue, R Street, S Street, T Street, V Street, Half Street, First Street, and 2nd Street in the area near South Capitol Street. Vehicles in violation of posted signs will be ticketed and towed.
S Street between First Street and Half Street, SW, will be closed to vehicular traffic from approximately 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with additional streets subject to closure if public safety conditions require it.
The Metropolitan Police Department is warning motorists to expect delays and consider alternative routes, especially as large crowds are anticipated near the event. Pedestrians and drivers are advised to exercise caution in the area.
For real-time updates, drivers are encouraged to monitor DC Police Traffic’s Twitter page. All closures and restrictions are subject to change depending on conditions.
