WASHINGTON, D.C. — A series of armed robberies carried out on Wednesday afternoon in various parts of D.C. has prompted an active investigation, with police seeking public assistance in identifying the suspects.
In each incident, a suspect exited a silver Hyundai Sonata with Maryland tags, brandished a firearm, and demanded clothing from the victims. The vehicle used in the crimes was recovered the same day in the 1400 block of Bangor Street, Southeast.
The robberies occurred within a short time frame: at 3:41 p.m. near 4th and Sheridan Street, Northwest; at 3:45 p.m. in the 4500 block of Kansas Avenue, Northwest; at 4:19 p.m. in the 2500 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest; and at 4:27 p.m. near Eckington Place and Harry Thomas Way, Northeast.
Surveillance footage captured images of the suspects, and investigators have released photos in hopes that the public can assist in identifying those involved.
