BALTIMORE, MD — A 15-year-old boy was arrested Saturday night after leading police on a chase in a stolen car that struck a pedestrian in Baltimore’s Western District.

Officers spotted the vehicle, which was reported stolen in a carjacking on November 15, at approximately 7:30 p.m. When police attempted to stop the car, the driver fled, colliding with a marked patrol vehicle.

Foxtrot, the police aviation unit, was called to assist and track the fleeing vehicle from the air. The chase ended in the 400 block of West Saratoga Street, where the suspect vehicle struck a male pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital in critical but stable condition.

The vehicle’s occupants fled on foot, but Foxtrot guided ground units to the driver’s location in the 500 block of West Mulberry Street. Officers arrested the 15-year-old suspect, who was taken to a hospital for precautionary evaluation before being charged.

Citywide Robbery and Crash Team Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
