BALTIMORE, MD — A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder in connection with the November 11 shooting of a 15-year-old in Baltimore’s Central District.
Police say the suspect shot the victim multiple times during an attempted robbery in the 400 block of North Caroline Street. The shooting occurred around 3:22 p.m. and was initially detected by a ShotSpotter alert.
Responding officers found the injured 15-year-old in the 500 block of North Caroline Street. He was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he continues to receive treatment.
On November 16, the 14-year-old suspect turned himself in at the Central District police station. Authorities later transported him to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was formally charged.
