NEW YORK, NY — The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying suspects linked to a pattern of grand larceny incidents that occurred in several Brooklyn precincts earlier this month. The incidents, all involving the theft of headphones, were reported in the 72nd, 78th, 84th, and 88th Precincts between November 4 and November 6.
In the first reported case, a 19-year-old woman was approached outside 691 Fulton Street in the 88th Precinct on November 4 at approximately 9:21 p.m. An unidentified individual took her headphones and fled. The following evening, another victim, a 29-year-old woman, had her headphones stolen at the intersection of Elliott Place and Fulton Street. Both incidents occurred without injuries.

On November 6, the thefts escalated with eight incidents reported throughout the day, targeting victims ranging in age from 16 to 30. In the 84th Precinct, headphones were stolen on Duffield Street, State Street, and aboard a southbound “R” train at the Pacific Street subway station. In the 88th Precinct, two individuals were involved in a theft at the Lafayette Avenue and Fulton Street subway station. Meanwhile, in the 78th Precinct, victims were approached on Flatbush Avenue and near Grand Army Plaza. The final incidents occurred in the 72nd Precinct near 4th Avenue and 51st and 52nd Streets, with suspects fleeing on foot after each theft.
Police arrested a 15-year-old male on November 8 in connection with one of the subway station incidents in the 84th Precinct. He was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree.

Investigators continue to seek at least three additional male suspects in connection with the broader pattern of thefts. No weapons were used, and no injuries were reported in any of the cases.
Anyone with information about these incidents is encouraged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
