Armed Robbery Suspects Captured on Security Video in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two men suspected of robbing a 7-Eleven early last Wednesday morning. The incident occurred on October 30 at around 12:30 a.m. at a convenience store located at 14500 Jefferson Avenue.

According to the Newport News Police Department, two suspects, described as Black males, entered the store before one of them approached the clerk with a handgun and demanded cash and goods. The suspects reportedly took an undisclosed amount of cash and multiple packs of cigarettes before fleeing the scene on foot, heading northbound.

The first suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing around 250 pounds, and was last seen wearing a light gray hoodie and a black face mask. He was reportedly carrying a black handgun. The second suspect is approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, and was dressed entirely in black, also wearing a black mask.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on the suspects’ identities or whereabouts to come forward. Police say that tipsters can remain anonymous and may qualify for a reward of up to $1,500 if their information leads to an arrest.
