15-year-old arrested for slashing young boy inside Bronx building

BRONX, N.Y. — A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with second-degree assault on Thursday morning in the Bronx, according to police. The arrest, part of an ongoing investigation, took place at approximately 10:35 a.m. in the 42nd Precinct. Details about the specific incident that led to his arrest have not been disclosed.

In a separate case, the New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a slashing attack that also occurred within the 42nd Precinct.

Police report that on Tuesday, October 22, at around 4:00 p.m., a 13-year-old boy was inside a building located at 837 Home Street when he was approached by an unidentified individual. A verbal dispute ensued, during which the individual reportedly pulled out a scalpel and slashed the victim on his right arm and left hand. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The 13-year-old sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

The NYPD has released images of the suspect in the October 22 assault and is asking anyone with information on the individual’s identity or whereabouts to contact authorities. The investigation remains active as police work to ensure the safety of local residents.
