D.C. Police Arrest Suspect in Shooting on 50th Street
Quick Arrest Made in Northwest D.C. Robbery Attempt WASHINGTON, DC - Following a Northwest robbery attempt, D.C. Metro Police Department’s Third District detectives have swiftly apprehended a suspect. The incident occurred today around 2:53 PM, in the 1200 block of W Street, Northwest. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Lenare Leath, Jr. of Northwest D.C., allegedly brandished a knife and pushed the victim to the ground in an attempt to steal their property. After a struggle, the suspect fled empty-handed but was quickly caught by responding officers. The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. WASHINGTON, D.C.Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a shooting that took place in Northeast Washington this summer, the Metropolitan Police Department announced Monday. The suspect, Ronald Brewer, faces charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

The incident occurred on July 21 at around 9:23 p.m. in the 500 block of 50th Street, Northeast. According to police, Brewer allegedly approached the victim, fired a handgun, and fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

After months of investigation, police apprehended Brewer on October 28, bringing closure to the case. Authorities did not disclose further details on the circumstances leading to the arrest or whether any other suspects are being sought.
