READING, Pa. — Lisa Snyder, 41, of Kempton, was sentenced Thursday to two consecutive life terms in prison without parole for the 2019 murders of her two children, 8-year-old Conner and 4-year-old Brinley. Snyder, who was convicted last month of first-degree murder, used a dog leash to hang the children from a beam in the family’s basement, according to court records.
In addition to the life sentences, Berks County Court of Common Pleas Judge M. Theresa Johnson ordered Snyder to serve an additional 8½ to 17 years in prison for lesser charges, including endangering the welfare of a child and tampering with evidence.
Snyder’s conviction followed a seven-day bench trial in September. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Meg McCallum and Ken Brown, with Pennsylvania State Police Troopers Ian Keck and Daniel Womer leading the investigation.
Authorities have described the 2019 crime as one of the most horrific cases they have encountered. Snyder will spend the rest of her life in a state correctional facility without the possibility of parole.
