New Jersey Police Identify Man Arrested for Double Murder in Virginia

Evesham Township, NJ – Early Sunday, the Evesham Police Department responded to an incident involving a man allegedly threatening a homeowner on Kelly Drive. The suspect, Amandeep Singh, reportedly sought his estranged wife, leading to an argument and the alleged brandishing of a firearm before fleeing.

The police launched an investigation, collaborating with the Medford Police Department. Singh was located in Medford, NJ and arrested without incident. Authorities discovered Singh in possession of multiple firearms, including a .40 caliber handgun and an AK47 rifle with high-capacity magazines.

During the investigation, the Prince William County Police Department was contacted to perform a welfare check on Singh’s residence in Virginia. This resulted in the discovery of two deceased individuals, prompting a homicide investigation. Singh’s wife was found safe elsewhere in Virginia.

Police later revealed the deceased couple was renting a basement apartment in Singh’s home.

Singh was taken to a Marlton hospital for non-custody-related treatment and allegedly assaulted a police officer during his stay. Charged with various offenses in New Jersey and Virginia, Singh is held at Burlington County Jail, pending a court appearance. The Evesham Police Department continues to seek information related to the crime.
